Safe Children Bright Futures

Children's Multidisciplinary C.A.R.E Team

Children Advocacy Resilience Education

The C.A.R.E. team conducts comprehensive and holistic assessments for every child supported by Safe Futures. Child-centred, family-focused safety, learning and care plans provide an integrated, collaborative response. The aim of the team's work is to create safety, stability and promote healthy development for all children and their families. The team also actively seeks out opportunities to ensure every child is able to reach their academic, sporting, artistic and musical potential and has access to activities that promote social, cultural and spiritual connection to their community.

SFF Satellite Classroom

This joint initiative between Safe Futures Foundation and Croydon Community School has the broad protective affect of breaking the cycle of violence for children and young people and keeping them connected to education. This project ensures that the students affected by homelessness and withdrawal from school as a result of family violence in their home are able to continue to be engaged in their education and learning and maintain school connectedness.

The goals of the Outreach Teacher Project include:

  • To deliver a teaching and learning program to students accompanying their mother in emergency and crisis housing;
  • To provides an individualised teaching program;
  • Manage the transition of students exiting and re-entering or enrolling in a new school and provide the communication for schools to minimise the number of days absent from a mainstream educational setting;
  • Provide outreach teaching and support to the students and Mother within a broader, family-centred framework in the student's home.
"Thank you very much for all staff members keeping me safe here and giving me an opportunity to get on with my life. I’m not sure whether my English is correct but I only want to say thank you all again and again. You make me comfortable here and fearless."
